Learning how to cook can be overwhelming, especially for beginners who don’t yet understand how different stoves, pans, and cooking times affect their food. That’s why I came up with the idea for Sous, an AI-powered cooking assistant designed to guide users through the cooking process step by step. Sous doesn’t physically cook your food, but it helps you learn by tracking important details like how long your specific stove takes to heat up and how different foods cook on your setup. By using tools like infrared sensors, Sous can even detect when your pan is ready, taking out the guesswork that often leads to mistakes.
What makes Sous unique is its ability to personalize the cooking experience. Instead of relying on generic recipes, it adapts to your kitchen and your habits. Whether you’re using a gas or electric stove, Sous helps you understand timing, temperature, and technique in a way that builds real cooking skills over time. This makes it especially useful for beginners who want to gain confidence and become more independent in the kitchen.
